The first movie really did have a great script.
and only the first one. the second one had some gems…
it bothers me how nobody talks about how physically impossible this scene is…
Actually I’d like to know how it’s ENTIRELY impossible. If you stuff something like an air-tight cup into water face-down, the air has no way out and gets trapped inside. I imagine the boat is airtight. o xo I can see how doing that JUST right without letting the air out would be HARD, and they would eventually run out of oxygen, but it’s still an interesting concept that I don’t see as -entirely- impossible.
Idk I always though that the air would make the boat float back to the surface. Like, if it’s a cup, you’re holding it down from on top of the cup, and you’re much bigger and heavier than the cup so it won’t push you out of the way to get back up. But if you let it go, it floats to the top again [especially if it’s wood or plastic]
A wooden rowboat I think would also float to the top, and would need a significant force from above to push it down that deep. Two men lighter than the boat itself couldn’t really hold the boat down from underneath it???
I wouldn’t know for sure since it’s like not something I’ve ever done or seen it done IRL before though.
The only way I can see them getting the top shot is with a boat completely full of water and the people inside using air tanks to walk the boat across?????? Someone correct me if I’m wrong on literally everything cause I probably am.
