Let me tell you… why all 9 of those are complete and utter horse shit.
Allow me to preface this by saying I have been shooting since I was about 10 years old or so. I am in the military and I have taken college courses on mass media, news media and advertising. so I consider myself to be well read on the subject of guns in the media and advertising…
I will go through each point made and tell you why most of this is either idiotic or just a bunch of fear mongering bullshit.
1- The first slide points out how Sig Sauer uses the military as a way to advertise.
Well no shit sherlock! It’s called a demographic! Most gun owners WANT equipment on par with the US military. And Sig Sauer DOES sell weapons to the US Government and US military. Which to them and to the consumer is something to be proud of. The government trust the lives of soldiers and VIPs to Sig Sauer… that’s a GREAT advertising ploy.
2- “The gun lobby insists that AR-15s and similar semiautomatics are not “assault weapons” – they’re “modern sporting rifles.” But gunmakers themselves hype the military-grade firepower of their products. Bushmaster, the maker of the rifle used by Newtown killer Adam Lanza, peddles an “Adaptive Combat Rifle” on the civilian market.”
I HIGHLY suggest the author of this article spends more than 10 minues of googling before writing down whatever filth spills from his dirty feeding orifice.
The AR-15 design is older than the M16 and M4 design. it was originally designed for the civilian market and THEN picked up by the military to be modified in to a select fire “assault rifle”. Not a SINGLE gun you will find on the average civilian market is an assault rifle (unles youre going to a class 3 dealership, in which case I hope you have 10,000+ dollars and a crystal clear criminal record).
The “ACR” was a project started by the company Magpul and then sold off to bushmaster to be finished and marketed to the US military… hence it’s name… the weapon was not picked up by the military but the civilian population loved it, so they sold it to us in a semi-automatic package. They just kept the name.
(PS, you can tell how little a journalist knows by how many buzzwords they use… this guy used 7 in that 1 paragraph)

lets see here… 4 buzzwords within the first half of this paragraph WOW.
These are precision rifles and they sell them to hunters, target shooters and police personnel. in the advertisement shown they highlight the durability of their products which is something everyone looks for in a rifle purchase ESPECIALLY a precision weapon.
And go back to my first piece about the first slide… because again… no shit they use the military as a marketing ploy… because it works.
4- I’m not even going to paste this one…
can you PLEASE tell me what is SO EVIL about marketing to women? You’re sounding awfully sexist right now…

FIRST OF ALL
please tell me a better way to stop an intruder or a rapist, i’m all ears.
The 5-7 is an overpowered .22 and is in NO WAY a “combat handgun or a battlefield weapon.
And lastly, please tell me what is so evil and wrong about believing a woman has the right to defend herself from the REAL THREATS in the world?
6- Selling to children
… Ignorance breeds ignorance… when was the last time a well taught, sane young man shot up a school or anything else?
never.
Because when you teach your children to respect guns and handle them with safety you dont get accidents or violence infatuated psychos.
7- Literally the same shit as above… with some added sexism thrown in….
8&9- Zombies
Do you not know what “advertising” is?
Right now, zombies are popular. And while I think it’s dumb as fuck, some people love it. And I dont see anything wrong with it. They arent shooting at real people, so where’s the problem?
